Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Baylor Bears

Texas Tech’s defense is good enough to match what the Bears’ do on D. But although the Red Raiders will play well for most of the game, Baylor should come out on top. The Bears average 82.5 points per game. 11-3 Texas Tech should push the Bears. The Red Raiders head into this game after a fantastic 75-67 win against Kansas on Jan.8. Texas Tech covers even though Baylor wins straight up.

Since starting off the season playing like one of the best teams in the nation, the Iowa State Cyclones have lost 3 straight. The 72-77 loss to Baylor makes sense. But what happened in the 51-47 loss to Texas Tech and the 66-79 loss to Oklahoma? Iowa State is reeling, which isn’t good because Texas Tech beat the Jayhawks in their last. Kansas covers.

Nova heads into the week on a 4-match winning streak. The Wildcats have also covered in 4 straight. Xavier bounced back from their Dec. 21 loss to Villanova with a strong 87-72 win against Butler. This should be a tight match throughout. The Musketeers will have revenge on their minds, but Jay Wright’s squad has gelled to the point where we must consider Nova a legit Final Four team. Villanova wins SU and ATS.

Colorado Buffalos vs. Arizona Wildcats

Arizona didn’t cover in their last game even though they beat the Washington Huskies 95-79. Zona was a -24.5 chalk. The Wildcats shouldn’t offer that many points to the 11-3 Colorado Buffalos. Arizona remains one of the best teams in the nation. The Wildcats should have no trouble getting past Colorado and covering the spread.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Kentucky Wildcats

- Where: Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

Saturday’s marquee matchup is a top Southeastern Conference throw down. On Jan. 4, Kentucky fell to LSU in Baton Rouge, but other than that loss, the Wildcats have rolled. Big Blue dominated Georgia in their last. But although the Wildcats got the victory, John Calipari’s team didn’t cover. Overall, Kentucky is 7-8 ATS. Still, Kentucky can score at will while Tennessee must generate most of their points from half court sets. The Wildcats win and cover.

NC State Wolfpack vs. Duke Blue Devils

- Where: Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, North Carolina

Duke isn’t unbeatable at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Just ask the Miami Hurricanes who pulled off a 78-74 upset victory on Jan. 8 as a +15 dog. NC State shouldn’t play well enough to keep this close. Heading into the week, though, Duke hasn’t covered in 2 straight, only beating Georgia Tech by 14 as a -18.5 favorite, and then the SU loss to Miami. Taking the points on the Wolfpack makes sense.
