Why Bet on the Texas Longhorns?

Washington isn’t known for their defense, but the Huskies’ D is as much of a reason for Washington’s College Football Playoff berth as the offense. The Huskies held Arizona, which boasts one of the best offenses in the nation, to 24 points.

Oregon scored 33 in the first Washington victory over the Ducks. Bo Nix and his mates could only score 30 in the Pac-12 title game. Oregon averages over 44.2 points per game, second in the nation. So Washington’s D has really stepped it up this season.

Heisman Trophy Finalist Michael Penix Jr. is one of the most effective quarterbacks in the nation. Penix Jr. started his career at Indiana and has suffered two knee injuries, which makes him not only experienced but also determined.

Few players go through what Penix Jr. has gone through and excel on the field. The Washington quarterback threw for 4,218 yards, 33 touchdowns and tossed just 9 picks.

Penix Jr. has already overcome adversity, which might explain why he’s always under control and calm. It helps that Washington’s QB can throw to one of the top receivers in the game, Romeo Odunze.

Anybody who thinks Oklahoma State is close to Oregon’s level doesn’t know college football. The Oregon State Beavers, Arizona Wildcats, Oregon Ducks, and a healthy Utah team would have challenged Texas for the Big 12 title.

Washington beat all of those teams and they did so by playing terrific defense and offense. The Huskies’ D is going to force Ewers into at least 1 interception while Penix Jr. will carve up Texas’ secondary. Huskies win this going away.
