Why Bet on the Golden State Warriors?

Things just aren’t going the Golden State Warriors’ way lately. They’ve lost two straight games entering their four-game road trip beginning this Tuesday, with the latest defeat being a 110-108 heartbreaker against the sub-.500 San Antonio Spurs.

On the bright side, Steph’s supporting cast is still playing well. The revamped backcourt tandem of Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole combined for 52 points and 10 three-pointers against the Spurs, and Andrew Wiggins pitched in 16 points and eight rebounds as well. Depth is still an issue for the Dubs, though, as the likes of Andre Iguodala, James Wiseman, Gary Payton II, and Moses Moody are all dealing with their own respective injuries.

Why Bet on the Orlando Magic?

The last two games for the Orlando Magic haven’t gone entirely as planned by Jamahl Mosley and his squad. The Magic went 1-1 against two of their fellow bottom-dwellers in the league. Thankfully, after losing to the Detroit Pistons Thursday, they beat the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday, 90-85, to put an end to their three-game slide.

Former Duke standout Wendell Carter Jr. led all Orlando players with his massive double-double of 30 points and 16 rebounds. 10 of those 30 points came in the fourth quarter as Carter willed his team to victory down the stretch. The Magic’s other young stars also stepped up on the glass, as Mo Bamba and Chuma Okeke also registered double-digit boards.

Orlando out-rebounded the Thunder, 68-56, as the team’s young corps of big men got the job done by hauling in extra possessions. They’d be in a good spot for an upset against the Warriors this Tuesday if the Dubs’ scoring efficiency takes another dip. After all, the 28-win Spurs did just pull an upset over the third-best team in the Western Conference this past weekend.

Warriors vs. Magic Betting Trends

  • The Warriors are 3-5 in the last eight games wherein they were favored to win (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went over in six of Golden State’s last seven games on the road.
  • The Magic are 2-5 in the last seven home games (3-4 ATS).
  • The Magic are just 1-7 in the last eight games as home dogs (3-5 ATS).
  • The totals went over in three of Orlando’s last four games in general.

Warriors vs. Magic Expert Betting Prediction

Talent and experience still favor Golden State over Orlando in this particular matchup. On the other hand, the Warriors are playing with a depleted roster and might opt to give their top remaining players less playing time in preparation for the remainder of their current road trip. In turn, there’s still a solid chance that the Magic can, at the very least, cover the spread just as the Spurs had just done this past weekend.
