2023 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament

  • When: March 14 – April 3

As always, the second most important sports betting event of the year takes place about a month after the Super Bowl. Starting on March 14, the 64 best college basketball teams on the planet throw down in the 2023 NCAA March Madness Tournament.

If the season ended today, most college hoop heads believe the top four seeds would be Purdue, Houston, Arizona, and Alabama.

2023 MLB Season

  • When: March 30

2022 was a banner year in baseball. Justin Verlander won another Cy Young and Aaron Judge broke the single season home run record.

2023 could be even better. Verlander took the money to go to the Mets. Justin pitches with the great Max Scherzer to create one of the most formidable 1-2 starters at the top of a rotation in baseball history.

The defending champion Astros will be looking for the seconds straight World Series. Toronto and the Yankees in the AL should be the Stros’ top challengers. Over in the NL, most buzz surrounds the Dodgers, San Diego Padres, the Mets, Atlanta, and the Philadelphia Phillies.

2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

  • When: April 17 – June 18

There’s more parity in the NHL than there is in any other sports league. Teams that look primed to make deep playoff runs include Tampa Bay, Toronto, Boston, Carolina, the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights.

Colorado should make a second half season run. So we can’t count out the Avs.

2023 NBA Playoffs

  • When: April 15 – June 18

Early in the morning on Feb. 8, the Phoenix Suns pulled a coup by trading away their future and a bunch of young players for Kevin Durant and TJ Warren.

The Suns will boast a fearsome starting five once everyone is healthy. Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Torrey Craig, KD, and DeAndre Ayton should handle any other team in the league unless the squad suffers injuries.

In the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee and Boston are the two likeliest conference winners.

PGA Tour

  • Masters Tournament: April 6 – 9
  • PGA Championship: May 18 – 21
  • U.S. Open: June 15 – 18

Formula 1’s first race is the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 5. Most believe Max Verstappen easily takes his third straight driver’s championship. But Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton believe the overall top podium spot is theirs.

MMA

  • UFC 285 Jones vs. Gane: March 4
  • UFC 286 Edwards vs. Usman 3: March 18

UFC 284 happens this Saturday. After Alexander Volkanovski attempts to wrest away the lightweight strap from Islam Makhachev, the following UFC events happen in March and April.

Dana White will put on more events. So expect word on cards for late April, May, June, July, and August.

Soccer

English Premier League, LaLiga, Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga, and French Ligue 1 finish their seasons in late May. Then the new UEFA soccer seasons start in August. The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup happens in July. It will be tough to find betting options because the U.S. dominates.

The 2023 Champions League Final takes place at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on June 10. The CL Final always closes out European soccer’s regular season.
