Top 2021 NBA Week 2 Betting Picks

So far so good for the Warriors who beat and covered against the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2 of their first 3 games of the season. The Oklahoma City Thunder went 0-3 ATS in their first three games. Because The City is the road team, they figure to offer decent value against the spread.

After a couple of games, the Heat have an overtime loss to Indiana and a stunning 137-95 win versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami’s defense looks much improved. It’s only been a couple of games, but the Heat are allowing 27.2% from three. The Nets rely on the three-point shot. So there’s a chance the Heat win this straight up at big odds.

The Jazz covered both of their first two games, a 107-86 win against Oklahoma State as a -14 favorite, and a 110-101 victory against the Sacramento Kings as a -6 chalk. Houston has a single win agianst the spread in their first three games. But although the Rockets haven’t played great, they get the Jazz at home. Expect Houston to come out firing returning home after a tough road matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Rockets could win against the spread as a likely undervalued home dog.

One of the week’s most intriguing matchups pit the Denver Nuggets against the Dallas Mavericks. Denver is undefeated straight up after a couple of games. But they failed to cover against San Antonio on Oct. 22 as a -7 favorite. Atlanta dominated the Mavericks in their first game of the season before Dallas bounced back with a win and cover against the Toronto Raptors in their second match. Denver has the edge against the spread because, like what often happens, NBA handicappers over value Luka Doncic’s ability to take over a game.

The non-cover and loss happened to Orlando in the second of a back-to-back versus the Magic. Julius Randle should play while Zion Williamson won’t, which means NYK has no excuse to not blow out the Pels.

Jrue Holiday is listed as doubtful for Monday’s Milwaukee contest versus the Indiana Pacers. But with or without Jrue, the Bucks are the team to back against the spread in this Halloween Night throw down versus the Jazz. If Holiday plays, Milwaukee should win and cover because the spread won’t be out of control. If Jrue doesn’t play, NBA handicappers will undervalue Milwaukee’s bench. The defending champs should be a solid play no matter if Holiday puts on the sneakers or not.
