Philadelphia Eagles vs. Houston Texans

  • When: Thursday, November 3rd, 2022. 8:15pm EST.
  • Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
  • NFL Odds: Eagles (-14) // Texans (+14)

Philly isn’t just 7-0 straight up, the Eagles are also 5-2 against the spread, which makes them the team to back for sure, right? Not so fast. Undefeated teams after week 8 almost never stay undefeated. In fact, it’s happened once in NFL history where a team has gone undefeated for an entire regular season.

Be careful about playing the Eagles to cover. A few bucks on the Texans money line makes some sense because often when a top team loses it’s too an opponent most expect them dominate.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Houston Texans

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 1:00pm EST.
  • Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
  • NFL Odds: Bills (-11.5) // Jets (+11.5)

Buffalo is the better team in this matchup, but the Jets are for real. If not for three Zach Wilson picks in the loss to the Patriots, who knows?

J-E-T-S will challenge Josh Allen. On offense, Wilson and the Jets are good enough to score a few points. Since this happens at the Meadowlands, taking the 12.5 makes sense.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: New York Jets

Minnesota Vikings vs. Washington Commanders

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 1:00pm EST.
  • Where: FedExField, North Englewood, MD
  • NFL Odds: Vikings (-3.5) // Commanders (+3.5)

The Vikings have a gaudy 6-1 record. Minnesota is the best team in the NFC North where Chicago, Green Bay, and Detroit reside. That doesn’t mean that the Vikings are a good play to cover against a suddenly tough Washington squad.

Taylor Heinicke is 2-0 as a starter this season. D.C. responds to his leadership. Expect Heinicke to put the Commanders into a position to win this straight up. Here’s another where the home dog in week 9 should prevail against the spread.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Washington Commanders

Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 1:00pm EST.
  • Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA
  • NFL Odds: Colts (+5.5) // Patriots (-5.5)

New England has gone 4-1 against the spread in their last 5. After an inexplicable loss to the Bears at home in NFL Week 7, New England bounced back with a fantastic 22-17 road win over the Jets in week 8.

The Pats give up a lot of points in this, but the Colts are a mess. Frank Reich fired the team’s offensive coordinator on Wednesday. That doesn’t give Indy a lot of time to game plan for a Bill Belichick defense. New England wins and covers.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: New England Patriots

Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 4:05pm EST.
  • Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ
  • NFL Odds: Seahawks (+2) // Cardinals (-2)

The Cardinals are the chalk because this happens in Zona. If the game took place in Seattle, the Seahawks would be -4 to -5 favorites.

The bottom line in this game is that one quarterback, Kyler Murray, makes mistakes while the other almost never makes a mistake. Geno Smith has thrown for 13 TDs and just 3 picks. He was brilliant in Seattle’s 27-13 win over the New York Giants. Seattle should win straight up.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Seattle Seahawks

Los Angeles Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 4:25pm EST.
  • Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
  • NFL Odds: Rams (+2.5) // Buccaneers (-2.5)

Neither squad is playing great football. The Buccaneers are on a 3-game losing streak. The Rams have lost 3-of-4 but even without Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles’ wide receiver is listed as questionable, the Rams should cover.

The difference in the game will be the Rams’ pass rush. If Aaron Donald and the gang can get to Brady, this one will be over.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Los Angeles Rams

Tennessee Titans vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • When: Sunday, November 6th, 2022. 8:20pm EST.
  • Where: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
  • NFL Odds: Titans (+12) // Chiefs (-12)

Kanas City is the better team. However, before dumping on the Chiefs, it’s important to note that Tennessee owns this rivalry against the spread.

The Titans have gone 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Kansas City. Tennessee is 5-1 against the spread in the last 6 meetings. Taking the points makes sense.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Tennessee Titans

Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints

  • When: Monday, November 7th, 2022. 8:15pm EST.
  • Where: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, LA
  • NFL Odds: Ravens (-2.5) // Saints (+2.5)

The Saints defense played lights out versus the Raiders. New Orleans offense also played well. But just because the Saints dominated the Raiders it doesn’t mean they have any chance against a Raven’s squad that made a trade for the fantastic Roquan Smith.

The former Bears’ linebacker is one of the top defenders in the league. New Orleans doesn’t have enough speed on defense to contain Lamar Jackson. Grab the overlay line on Baltimore.

2022 NFL Week 9 Pick: Baltimore Ravens
