Chris Buescher

Driving the No. 17 Ford Mustang for RFK Racing is 29-year-old, Christopher William Buescher. The Texas native scored his last Cup Series win at Bristol’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race. He’s been enticing this season. In 31 races, he featured in three top-five finishes, ten top-ten finishes, and nearly 20 top-20 finishes. He holds a fairly decent average finish of 17.8, which is better than some of the drivers ahead of him.
Despite picking up just five points in the playoffs, we’ve seen Buescher produce competitive performances since entering this stage of the season. He scored four top-ten finishes in his last nine races and led for 169 laps at Bristol. The 2011 ARCA Racing Series Rookie of the Year looks for his third career win as a credible 2022 South Point 400 Sleeper Pick.
Aric Almirola

The man from Florida is among the more experienced drivers on the grid this season. In his career, he registered four poles and three wins at the Cup Series. His 2022 campaign entails two top-five finishes and seven top-ten finishes. Although he is yet to score his first playoff points this year, it’s encouraging to see him log positive results.
Since announcing his retirement from full-time racing after the 2022 season, it would be great to see him on the podium for one last time. Almirola is familiar with this weekend’s speedway, making him a great sleeper option for the more adventurous bettor. His improved results over the previous season assert presence and are a good morale booster for the upcoming event.
A.J. Allmendinger

You can never discount the veterans here. Allmendinger packs experience and a punch that could surprise many. The 40-year-old is riding his veteran years with some impressive wins under his belt. The pro driver drives the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing and will attempt to mix things up in front of the pack on Saturday and Sunday.
Allmendinger came close to a podium finish in the most recent Bank of America 400 event. This adds to his second top-ten finish in his last four races. There’s good momentum behind him and the next race which should shake things up in terms of picks.
