The 2022 Wimbledon men’s singles tournament will have an unprecedented total prize purse worth £40.35 million, or about $48.95 million in winnings up for grabs. That’s a whopping 15.2-percent increase from the last year’s installement of The Championships, Wimbledon, as well as a 6.2-percent increase from 2019; the last Wimby event held prior to the global pandemic.
The winner of the men’s singles tournament stands to win £2 million (around $2.44 million). Meanwhile, participants who made it to the first round of the tournament, at the very least, will take home £50,000 (roughly $61,200).
