2021 NASCAR YellaWood 500 Recap

Kyle Larson, who also won the pole, crossed the finish line first. Larson held off Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron. Joe Gibbs driver Cristopher Bell finished third while Brad Keselowski crossed the line in fourth. Fifth place went to Kevin Harvick. Chase Elliott, who leads the Cup standings, finished seventh.

Top Choice to Win the 2022 YellaWood 500

Joey Logano’s third place finish in last year’s YellaWood 500 is the main reason to make Joey the top pick to win this year’s race but it’s not the only reason. The Penske driver has climbed to the top of the Cup standings. In the last race, the Autotrader Echo Park Automotive 500, Logano finished second behind Tyler Reddick.

On Sunday, Joey drives over a track where he’s had success. Logano is just 12 points ahead of oss Chastain and just 14 points ahead of Kyle Larson. No doubt, Joey will want to distance himself from his competitors for the Cup.

Second Top Choice to Win the 2022 YellaWood 500

Chase Elliott sits in seventh place on the NASCAR Cup standings. Last Sunday, the Hendrick driver finished in thirty-second place at Texas Motor Speedway after suffering an accident. Chase knows he has only a few races left to secure a spot in the Round of 8. Seventh is not a safe number.

At last year’s YellaWood 500, Elliott didn’t drive his best, finishing eighteenth. Expect Elliott to produce a much better run in the 2022 race. Chase is angling for a top five finish. If he gets lucky, he could lift the trophy.

Third Top Choice to Win the 2022 2022 YellaWood 500

Christopher Bell has fallen to eleventh on the standings. If Christopher doesn’t start picking it up soon, he won’t have a chance to win the Cup. Last Sunday, Bell was the victim of NASCAR’s Damaged Vehicle Policy (DVP).

The Joe Gibbs driver believes he can fight his way back into the top 8. Doing so requires making no mistakes and putting himself in a position to grab first place in the YellaWood 500.

Top Underdog Choice to Win the 2022 YellaWood 500

At Texas Motor Speedway last weekend, Chris Buescher got into an accident, which might be the reason he’s offering 30-to-1 opening odds to win at Talladega. Buescher won the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol. He’s driving well enough to challenge for first place in this. Not only that, but in the 2021 YellaWood, he finished sixth.

It’s difficult to find an underdog that has as much of a shot of winning on Sunday as Buescher. If the current odds are anywhere close to opening odds, Chris is more than playable.
