Sung-Jae Im

Peaking at the right moment is South Korean standout Sung-jae Im, who’s having his best stretch on the greens since mid-April to early May. In three of his last four starts, the 25-year-old Cheongju native bagged top-20 finishes, beginning with a T20 at The Open Championship and last week’s strong T6 finish in TPC Southwind. Last year’s runner-up to the TOUR champion also has a T5 and a solo third at the BMW Championship in the past couple of seasons, which makes Im a very noteworthy sleeper pick to bank on winning the entire tournament in Olympia Fields.
Corey Conners

Also finishing tied for sixth in last week’s playoff tournament is Corey Conners, who is looking to surprise the rest of the PGA TOUR’s best in the postseason once more. The 31-year-old from Ontario has a pair of top-10s in the BMW Championship (T7 in 2019, T5 last year) and made it to the final round in three of the last four seasons. For as long as Conners flies under most people’s radars, he’ll remain a relatively reliable sleeper candidate to win any tournament on a given week. After all, he did just pick up his second PGA TOUR victory with a win at the Valero Texas Open earlier this April.
Emiliano Grillo
- 2023 BMW Championship Odds: +6,900
A strong second half to the season puts Emiliano Grillo in a terrific position to bring championship glory to his home country of Argentina. In 12 starts since mid-April, the former PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year racked up seven top-20 finishes and five top-10s, including a tense win via a playoff against Adam Schenk at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Considering his longer sleeper odds to win this week’s tournament, Grillo is a sneaky pick who could very well reward his backers with even better returns than his fellow dark horse candidates featured earlier here.
