2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Recap
Will Zalatoris beat Sepp Straka in a playoff after both finished at -15. Lucas Glover and Brian Harmon followed Straka and Zalatoris in third place at -12.
Seven players tied for fifth at -11: Tony Finau, Jon Rahm, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, Trey Mullinax, Andrew Putnam, and Adam Scott. Sung-jae Im was alone in twelfth at -10.

Jon Rahm’s -11 in this tournament last year makes him one of the favorites to win in 2023. The reason Jon is the top play on our list is because he’s waited almost an entire season for the playoffs.
The second choice on the board hasn’t played in a tournament since The Open Championship in the third week of July. Instead of traveling around the country, Rahm has spent time gearing up for the St. Jude.
Jon knows that if he gets off to a blistering start, he could carry momentum throughout the PGA Playoffs. Give Rahm the nod in what should be an excellent tournament.
2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship Second Pick
The odds on Xander Schauffele make him one of the best overlay plays on the board. Schauffele didn’t play great at last year’s St. Jude, shooting a -2 and finishing a tied fifty-seventh.
2023 should be different because Xander is in good form. Schauffele hasn’t missed a cut this year. Xander withdrew from the Sentry Tournament of Champions in the first week of January.
But other than that, Schauffele has played all four days in every tournament he’s entered. Like Rahm and the other top golfers in this, Schauffele hasn’t played since The Open, which means he’s been practicing for the playoffs. Plus, the odds are terrific. Give Schauffele a big chance.

The world’s top ranked golfer has won just two tournaments this year. But Scottie has finished well in almost every other tournament he’s played.
Scheffler, for sure, can win the St. Jude Championship. He was fantastic in 2022 and the fact he hasn’t produced the same form in 2023 might be a positive heading into the playoffs.
Ah, but the 6-to-1 odds to win the St. Jude makes Scottie an underlay. We can’t endorse at the odds, but if you don’t mind the low number, we’re not talking you off the world’s number one.
2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship Underdog Pick
At 30-to-1 odds, the U.S. Open winner is the top overlay on the board. Wyndham Clark has played decent golf since lifting the major trophy in Los Angeles, scoring a twenty-ninth at the Travelers and a twenty-fifth at the Genesis Scottish Open.
At The Open, Wyndham finished thirty-third. He’s playing good enough golf to warrant a look to win the St. Jude. Also, in this tournament last year, Clark finished a tied twenty-eighth after shooting a -7. Check out Wyndham Clark if you want to back a solid underdog.
