A Closer Look at the United Football League

The United Football League, a combination of the Xtreme Football League and the United States Football League, kicks off their 2024 UFL Season on Saturday, March 30. In 2020, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and some of his partners bought the Xtreme Football League for $15 million. Since then, The Rock has wanted to get the XFL back on its feet.

This past summer and fall, Johnson merged the XFL with the United States Football League, or the USFL. The UFL is a combination of four teams from the XFL and four teams from the USFL.

The four XFL teams are: D.C. Defenders, San Antonio Brahams, Arlington Renegades, and St. Louis Battlehawks. The Birmingham Stallions, the Michigan Panthers, the Memphis Showboats, and the Houston Renegades are the four teams from the United States Football League.

United Football League Schedule Dates

The UFL will kick off on Saturday, March 30 and end on Sunday, June 16. It will play a 10-week schedule. Check out dates for the United Football League 10 Week Regular Season.

ABC, FOX, and FS1 will air United Football League games this season. Make sure to check your local listings to see what channel is airing your regional game.

Here’s the full 10-week schedule per week:

How the UFL Playoffs will work

Four teams will qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams from each division will play in conference championship games. Then the UFL title game will occur on Sunday, June 16. UFL Divisions are broken down as follows:

USFL Conference

• Birmingham Stallions
• Houston Roughnecks
• Memphis Showboats
• Michigan Panthers

XFL Conference

• Arlington Renegades
• D.C. Defenders
• San Antonio Brahmas
• St. Louis Battlehawks

2024 United Football League Season Prediction

The Birmingham Stallions are going to be difficult to beat. The 2023 USFL Champions dusted the Pittsburgh Maulers 28-12 int eh title game. Birmingham lost just 2 games during the regular season.

The entire Stallions’ roster remains pretty much intact. So as is, Birmingham would have challenged their former USFL peers and any team from the XFL for the title this season.

But the Stallions didn’t just sit on the laurels. Birmingham picked up former Carolina Panthers and Ole Miss quarterback Matt Coral and former Ole Miss linebacker DeMarquis Gates this past week.

Corral was a college football star in Lane Kiffin’s offense. There was no place for Corral at Carolina because Bryce Young is the Panthers’ starter. Corral has talent, though, and will boost a deep Birmingham QB room.

Gates was terrific in college. The Stallions’ defense is already solid. So, Gates addition is huge. Expect Brimingham to win the inaugural 2024 UFL Season.
