2024 UFL Week 2 Odds, Preview & Predictions

The United Football League’s inaugural Week 1 showed a massive disparity in talented teams. Only a single club from the XFL division, the San Antonio Brahmas, scored a win. USFL squads Birmingham, Memphis, and Michigan all beat their XFL counterparts. Will UFL Week 2 yield comparable results? Or will the Xtreme division of the United Football League step it up? San Antonio Brahmas vs. Memphis Showboats

• When: Saturday, April 6th, 2024. 12pm ET.
• Where: Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, Memphis, TN
• TV/Live Stream: ESPN
• UFL Odds: San Antonio Brahmas (-2) // Memphis Showboats (+2)

Although San Antonio looked great when beating the D.C. Defenders, there’s a chance the Brahmas bounce. D.C. was the best team in the USFL last season. Also, the reason for San Antonio’s dominance, QB Chase Garbers excellent play, may not translate against a fellow USFL squad.

Memphis beat the Roughnecks 18-12 and this is on their field. If the Showboats can contain Garbers, Memphis’ defense played great versus Houston, the home team wins this straight up.

2024 UFL Week 2 Pick: Memphis Showboats

Arlington Renegades vs St. Louis Battlehawks

• When: Saturday, April 6th, 2024. 8pm ET.
• Where: The Dome at America’s Center, St. Louis, Missouri
• TV/Live Stream: ABC
• UFL Odds: Arlington Renegades (+5) // St. Louis Battlehawks (-5)

Although St. Louis is at home and Arlington lost in a big way to the Birmingham Stallions, let’s not get carried away with the spread. The +5 makes Arlington, the road squad in this, an overlay.

The reason is that even though the Renegades played the best team in the United Football League, the Stallions, along with the best player in the league, former Mississippi State quarterback Matt Coral, Arlington managed to amass 262 total yards, which was third best in Week 1.

St. Louis amassed 261, fourth best. But the Battlehawks couldn’t outlast the Panthers. St. Louis could win this. Taking the 5 points, though, on an Arlington squad that played better in their first game than the final score indicates, is the way to go.

2024 UFL Week 2 Pick: Arlington Renegades

Birmingham Stallions vs. Michigan Panthers

• When: Sunday, April 7th, 2024. 12pm ET.
• Where: Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan
• TV/Live Stream: ESPN
• UFL Odds: Birmingham Stallions (-6.5) // Michigan Panthers (+6.5)

Michigan versus Birmingham should be this week’s highlight matchup. Both teams won their first game. After a single game, Birmingham has declared themselves the best UFL team on the planet.

The Stallions racked up 397 total yards. Coral looked like he was playing with his Ole Miss buddies in Lane Kiffin’s offensive system. Birmingham rushed for 171.

Michigan, though, rushed for 112, which ranked second in UFL Week 1. The Panthers’ ability to rush the football could put a dent into the spread line. Another issue? The hook. Michigan has a good defense. So the .5 added to the 6 could be massive.

2024 UFL Week 2 Pick: Michigan Panthers

Houston Roughnecks vs. D.C. Defenders

• When: Sunday, April 7th, 2024. 4pm ET.
• Where: Audi Field, Washington, D.C.
• TV/Live Stream: FOX
• UFL Odds: Houston Roughnecks (+5.5) // D.C. Defenders (-5.5)

Houston’s offense is a disaster. For sure, Memphis played a good game and the Showboats a better defense than many believe, but the Roughnecks could score just 12 points.

More alarmingly, Houston passed for a tepid 174 and rushed for an atrocious 42. If you don’t rush for more than 42 yards, it doesn’t matter the level, pee wee to the NFL, you aren’t going to win many football games.

The XFL’s best squad from last year will get it together in this. D.C. easily wins and covers.
