This is the only meeting between the two until Friday’s massive French Open semis, which gives Alcaraz a huge edge and a boost of confidence as well.

Not to be forgotten as a perennial threat in Roland Garros is third-seeded Novak Djokovic, who eliminated Karen Khachanov in their quarterfinal match, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-2. Khachanov had the early advantage stealing the opening set, but the sensational Serb composed himself and closed out strong to reach his ninth semifinal appearance in the French Open since 2011.
