Head coach John Harbaugh stated on Tuesday that there’s a possibility that Lamar Jackson could return to action in Week 18 after a four-week layoff nursing an ankle injury.
The importance of Jackson’s return under center could not be any more imperative for Baltimore considering the team’s five-game losing streak – four of them without the former Heisman Trophy winner running the show. Then again, four of those five losses were each decided by two points or less, with the Ravens’ late-game gambles ultimately not paying off during their thrilling defeats to the Steelers in Week 13 and the Packers in Week 15.

Apart from winning their Week 18 game against the Steelers, here’s what the Ravens also need to happen in order to make the playoffs:
- A Jacksonville Jaguars win over the Indianapolis Colts
- A Miami Dolphins win over the New England Patriots
- A Los Angeles Chargers win over the Las Vegas Raiders
The biggest concern for the Ravens that’s beyond their limits is Jacksonville pulling off an upset over Indianapolis. The Colts control their playoff destiny needing only a victory over the lowly Jacksonville, whereas the Jags would gladly take another loss to guarantee themselves the first-overall pick at the 2022 NFL Draft by having the worst record in the league at season’s end.
