Previous Encounters

The last time these two teams met was back in Week 6, when the Packers visited the Bucs. Green Bay entered the matchup as the favorite, but just slightly at -1.5. The game ended 38-10, in favor of Tampa Bay. They clearly could not cover the spread and with a total of 51.5, it went under. This gave the Packers first loss of the season, as they entered the game at 4-0.

The Packers started off strong, but Brady and the Bucs went above and beyond with the plays. And the Tampa Bay defense had them covered all over, making Rodgers throw two interceptions, shifting the balance for the Buccaneers. The Packers are definitely looking to shake off that loss, especially under these playoffs circumstances.

Why Should You Bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

When looking at the Bucs recent performances on the road, they’ve won the last seven, with a 16 point average. But it’s interesting to point out that Tampa Bay’s performance at Green Bay hasn’t been that great. In their last 16 trips, they lost 15 times against the Packers.

But things have changed a lot within the team. Having Tom Brady on their side, he’s no stranger to the cold winter. He’s been in this situation before in the AFC. Remember those downpours of snow at Foxborough? Tampa Bay definitely has an advantage in their favor. Brady also averaged 348 yards in the past five games.

The Bucs defense has been quite good in making things difficult for opposing teams, allowing and average of 82 rushing yards, placing them on top of the rankings. They need to be more careful with the passing yards, which could favor Rodgers.

Why Should You Bet on the Green Bay Packers?

The Packers are coming in with a lot of confidence on their shoulders, beating the LA Rams 32-18 in the Divisional Round, picking up 484 yards. There were a couple of plays that went above 50 yards, which completely boosted the morale of the team.

Even though their passing yards have been great, their rushing yards has done its work as well, which helps Rodgers have more picks to throw the pigskin. Looking back at Rodgers’ last seven games, he has thrown 21 touchdown passes, with just one interception.

They enter this matchup as the favorites to win at -3.5. If they are able to hold the line and avoid any interceptions, they have a great chance to make it to the Super Bowl. No doubt we will most likely see an MVP Rodgers this Sunday.

Buccaneers vs Packers 2021 NFC Championship Expert Pick

I won’t deny that seeing Tom Brady make another Super Bowl, with a different team, is a story that we all wanted to see. And so far, he’s done his job. There is a lot in favor for the Bucs, having a veteran QB and a 6-time Super Bowl winner on their side, it definitely boosts morale.

But the Packers haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 2010. There’s no doubt they don’t only want payback, but defeat the GOAT to make it to the big game. I’m going for the Packers as the pick. And if you want to be on the Over/Under, I think the total will most likely go over 51, so bet on the Over.
