Why Bet on the Arizona Cardinals?

With four losses in their last five games, the Arizona Cardinals are in all sorts of trouble, especially since their 31-21 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9 just gave the division leaders even more of a leg up in the standings.

Despite an efficient 25-for-35 day throwing the ball, Kyler Murray ended up with just 175 passing yards to go with his two passing scores. The fleet-footed Murray also led his team in the rushing department that day with eight carries for 60 yards, while the backfield tandem of James Conner (back from a brief bout with a rib injury) and Eno Benjamin combined for just 57 rushing yards.

The Cardinals have a middle-of-the-road defense for the season that’s given up over 30 points to each of their last three opponents. While the Rams’ offense hasn’t been up to par of late, Arizona’s stop unit could be the deciding factor in the team’s upcoming clash in SoCal.

Why Bet on the Los Angeles Rams?

Week 9’s blockbuster matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended up being a case study of ineptitude. Neither of the two teams who’ve won the last two Super Bowls played like title contenders at all, as the Buccaneers needed a game-winning touchdown drive to escape with a 16-13 victory on their home field.

Matthew Stafford continues to regress from his Super Bowl hangover, as he went just 13-for-27 with 165 passing yards and a lone TD strike to star wideout Cooper Kupp. Stafford has not had a multi-touchdown passing day since Week 2, but at least he hasn’t thrown a pick over his last two starts. Meanwhile, Los Angeles’ running game remains anemic as the team averaged just 2.8 yards per carry on 24 rushing attempts versus the Bucs.

The Rams are in the same boat as the Cardinals with four losses in the last five games as well. On the inverse, though, it’s been their defense that’s keeping them in games and not the other way around. Over the last three games, LA’s D has held its opponents to under 17 points on two occasions. The Rams are tied for the sixth-worst pass-rushing attack in the league with 16 sacks for the season despite having several standouts in the front seven in Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner, and Leonard Floyd.

Cardinals vs. Rams Betting Trends

  • The Cardinals are 3-2 on the road this season (SU/ATS) but have lost their last two away from the desert.
  • The Cards are 2-4 in the last six outings as underdogs (3-3 ATS).
  • The totals went under in four of Arizona’s last six games on the road.
  • The Rams are 2-4 over the last six regular-season home games (1-5 ATS).
  • The Rams are 11-1 in the last 12 meetings against the Cardinals (10-1-1 ATS).
  • The totals went under in five of the Rams’ last six games in general.

Cardinals vs. Rams Expert Betting Predictions

Both of these teams have been early-season disappointments thus far, which makes it hard to gauge as to which team has the advantage in this contest. The Rams do have the home-field advantage on Sunday and the title-winning experience, although the Cardinals have been more competitive this season as a whole. Take the Cards to cover or win outright as road dogs.
