Why Bet on the Seattle Kraken?

There’s just no stopping the Seattle Kraken, who are bound for another Game 7 playoff thriller after defeating the Dallas Stars in Game 6 Saturday, 6-3. The past four games of this captivating series have been decided by three goals or more and Seattle, only in its second year of existence in the NHL, have been able to counterpunch the team’s more experienced opponents thus far.

Two-time All-Star Jordan Eberle scored a pair of goals for the Kraken, who outshot the Stars in the opening period of Game 6, 16-5, with the second of those goals being Eberle’s power-play go-ahead goal. Seattle scored two more quick goals in the second period to lead 4-1 and never looked back.

Goalie Philipp Grubauer had a more positive outing between the pipes, especially with 11 of his 20 saves coming in the second period to deny Dallas’ rally from another concerning deficit. For as long as Grubauer gets offensive support from his teammates, the Kraken are poised to pull off another Game 7 upset as they’ve just proven so with a 2-1 victory over the defending champions the Colorado Avalanche in the opening round of the postseason.

Why Bet on the Dallas Stars?

The last time the Dallas Stars were in a Game 7 was in 2020 when they came out on top of the aforementioned Avalanche in a 5-4 overtime thriller during the NHL’s bubble season and it was in the second round as well. Dallas went on to reach the Stanley Cup Finals that season and the team is hoping for a similar outcome with a win on Monday.

Joe Pavelski scored for the Stars, as the 38-year-old veteran is now tied with Alex Ovechkin as the only two active NHL players with 72-career goals in the playoffs. Pavelski didn’t get much support from the rest of the cast in Game 6, though. Roope Hintz, who is currently tied with the second-most points this postseason with 18, was held without a point Saturday.

Dallas is averaging 3.75 goals per game in the playoffs (third overall), and each game of the team’s series against the Kraken has been one dominant win over the other. That’s good news for the Stars, who still have a solid offense to swing Game 7 in their favor. However, there’s concern growing with goalie Jake Oettinger, who was pulled 24 and a half minutes off the ice for his shortest start all season after giving up four early Seattle goals.

Kraken vs. Stars Betting Trends

  • The Kraken are 3-2 in their last five road games.
  • The Kraken are 6-4 in their last 10 games as underdogs.
  • The totals have gone over in each of Seattle’s last three games of the series played in Dallas.
  • The Stars are 8-2 in their last 10 home games.
  • The Stars are now 7-5 lifetime against the Kraken.
  • The totals have gone over in all nine of the recent meeting between Dallas and Seattle.

Kraken vs. Stars Game 7 Expert Betting Prediction

Even though Dallas has the home-ice advantage and more decorated stars (no pun intended) on its roster, there’s just something about the Kraken that screams a compelling underdog story. The Vegas Golden Knights had a similar success story recently and Seattle has what it takes to be another expansion team going deep in its first playoff run, and we see the Kraken scoring no fewer than four goals en route to winning Game 7.
