Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees

Toronto lists Yusei Kikuchi as Tuesday’s starting pitcher. Kikuchi went 7-9 with a 4.41 ERA last season. He’s faced Yankee batters 54 times. NYY hits .291 versus Kikuchi. The Yankees plan on starting Nestor Cortes. In 2021, Cortes went 2-4 but he posted a very good 2.90 ERA. Both teams should have success at the plate. Give the Yankees the nod because this happens in their stadium and their bats are familiar with Kikuchi.

The Cardinals did struggle to beat Miami, though. But Mikolas holds the Brewers to less than a .200 batting average. Brewers starter Corbin Burnes was horrible versus the Cubs in his first start. The Cards are worth a look to pull off the upset win.

Last season, Corey Kluber, who the Rays plan on sending to the mound in this, went 5-3 with a 3.83 ERA. There’s no telling if Kluber will show up with his best stuff. We do know Chicago pitcher Dylan Cease will. In his first start, Cease threw 5 innings, struck out 8, walked 3, and gave up a run. The White Sox look tough. But Chicago figures to be overplayed in this spot. The Rays should offer overlay odds, making them a nice choice.

Tanner Houck had a decent ERA in 2021, 3.52, but he went 1-5. Still, Boston will be happy not to have to play the rival Yankees this weekend like they did opening weekend. The Red Sox get the win.
