Illinois Fightning Illini vs. Texas Longhorns

• When: Tuesday, December 6th, 2022. 7:00pm EST.
• Where: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

6-2 Illinois also has a decent record against the spread, going 5-3. The losses came against Virginia, maybe the ACC’s best team, and Big Ten rival Maryland in the Illini’s last.

Texas kept their undefeated record intact on Dec. 1 with a nice 72-67 win versus Creighton. When rankings land for the week, the Horns will be no worse than second. This happens on a neutral court, but the Longhorns are better than the Illini. Texas wins and covers.

Duke bounced back from a 75-56 loss to Purdue with a pair of victories. The Dookies bested Ohio State 81-72 before blasting Boston College 75-59.

Iowa presents a challenge. The Hawkeyes haven’t played since Nov. 29. When they last played, Iowa dominated Georgia Tech 81-65. The only team to have beaten Iowa is Big 12 squad TCU. The Hawkeyes hand Duke their second loss of the season versus a Big Ten opponent.

Washington Huskies vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs

• Where: McCarthey Athletic Center, Spokane, WA

Preseason chalk Gonzaga already has three loses. Texas beat the Zags by 19, Purdue trounced the Bulldogs by 18, and Baylor snuck by Gonzaga 64-63.

Washington is 7-2. The losses happened to teams the Huskies should have beaten, California Baptist and Oregon State. The Zags will win but they won’t cover because Mark Few’s team will offer underlay odds. Washington is the play against the spread.

The top-ranked Cougars are undefeated and have dominated on the defensive end. But in two of their last three games, the offense hasn’t been there. Houston scored 49 versus Kent in a 49-44 win. Then versus Saint Mary’s, the Cougs scored 53 in a 53-48 victory.

Alabama averages 83.5 points per. The Crimson Tide have won two straight heading into the week versus ranked opponents, North Carolina and San Diego State. Bama is worth a look to win this straight up.

Arizona Wildcats vs. Indiana Hoosiers

• Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, NV

Arizona bounced back from a stunning loss to Utah with a nice 81-68 victory over Cal. Although the Wildcats won straight up, Zona failed against the spread.

AZ is 7-1 SU and 2-6 ATS. Indiana had motored past every opponent until facing Rutgers on Dec. 3. The Hoosiers played horrible basketball. Zona should see a spread they can cover because Indiana is a quality team. Arizona gets the straight up and cover victories.
