Alabama Crimson Tide at Memphis Tigers

The Alabama Crimson Tide have rolled through their competition, making the Tide’s Tuesday battle against the Memphis Tigers one of this week’s top games. Bama steps into Memphis with zero pressure. The Tigers are the flailing squad. Memphis has lost 4 straight. But before dumping the farm on Bama, realize that Memphis matches up well with the Tide. Also, Memphis has too much quality to continue to lose. The team remains loaded at every position. This is Memphis’ get well game.

Appalachian State Mountaineers at Duke Blue Devils

Even though the Blue Devils are a terrific 7-1 SU, they’re just 3-3-2 ATS. App State isn’t a great basketball team. But the Mountaineers have gone 3-0-1 against the spread in their last 4. Coach K won’t go all out to cover a more than 30-point spread. Instead, he’ll give quality minutes to his bench. Duke wins but Appalachian State covers.

Villanova Wildcats at Creighton Blue Jays

Villanova’s loss to Baylor on Sunday was brutal. The Bears held the Wildcats to 36 total points. Jay Wright’s squad scored 15 in the first half. Nova was good for 21 in the second half. Wright won’t allow his team to play as poorly versus a Big East rival. So even though Baylor embarrassed the Wildcats, don’t expect Nova to underperform on Friday. Villanova is the play.

Gonzaga Bulldogs at Texas Tech Red Raiders

Gonzaga remains one of the best teams in the nation, but heading into the week, the Zags have failed to cover in 4 straight. The non-covers includes losing straight up to Alabama at home as a -10 chalk. Texas Tech is proving they’re one of the Big 12’s best teams. On Dec. 7, Tech upset Tennessee 57-52 in overtime. The Red Raiders lone loss was against Providence. Texas Tech has a shot to win this straight up. They should cover for sure.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Kentucky Wildcats

Ohio State is playing great basketball. The Buckeyes upset Duke 71-66 on Nov. 30. Then on Dec. 5, they beat Penn State 76-64. In their last on Dec. 11, Ohio State dusted Wisconsin 73-55. But although the Buckeyes are playing great ball, Coach Cal has gotten the Wildcats to play well. Heading into the week, Kentucky is just 1-4 against the spread in their last 5, though. Ohio State is the play.

Texas Longhorns vs. Stanford Cardinal

- Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV

Texas is slowly turning into a top college hoops squad. Stanford isn’t a bad team, but they should have no chance to keep this one close. The Cardinal is 2-5-1 ATS after their first 7 games. Stanford did beat Oregon in their last. But that came after scoring just 48 against Baylor in a loss, beating but not covering against North Carolina A&T, and dropping a game to Colorado. Texas should have no trouble securing the win and cover.
