Philadelphia Flyers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

With an 8-5-2-1 record, Philadelphia has played well this season. One thing in Philly’s favor in this match? The Flyers rank fifth-best in goals against. Opponents average 2.5 goals per game. Tampa has the better offense. The Lightning have also won 3-of-4 heading into their Sunday match versus Minnesota. TB has the edge, but we’re expecting an underlay number leading us to making the Flyers the bet.

The NYR versus NYI rivalry is one of the best in all of sports. So far this season, the Rangers have the upper hand with a 10-4-3 record in their first 17. The Islanders have a 5-7-1-1 record in their first 14. NYI should offer fair odds. They’re the play for sure because although the Rangers have a better record, NYR allows the same amount of goals, 2.8, as they make. Islanders get the win.

Florida Panthers vs. Washington Capitals

Florida has gone through some changes with their coaching staff, but it hasn’t translated to bad play on the ice. In fact, as of Nov. 21, the Panthers remain one of the top teams in NHL. With a 13-2-1-2 record, the road team in this leads the deep Atlantic heading into the week. But although Florida looks like the solid play, Washington is 11-2-5, allows just 2.2 goals per, and averages 3.4 goals each contest. The Caps are the play.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights

With an 11-7 record, Vegas has plenty of time to catch 13-4 Edmonton. But the Golden Knights have a serious problem in this match. Vegas allows 3.1 goals each match. The Knights only score 3.1 goals on average. Edmonton ranks second in goals per at 3.9. The Oilers also have the slightly better defense based on goals allowed at 2.9. Because Vegas should go off the favorite, the Oilers will be an attractive play.

This projects as one of this week’s better matchups. Heading into the week, both Winnipeg and Calgary are second in their respective divisions. The Jets give up 2.5 goals per while averaging 3.2 each game. The Flames allows just 2.0 goals each match, ranking second in NHL. Although Calgary should win this, Winnipeg may offer better than fair odds. We’re giving the Jets the nod.

Washington Capitals vs. Carolina Hurricanes

On Sunday, Washington heads to Carolina to take on the scorching Hurricanes. Carolina is 14-2 this season. No doubt, the Hurricanes will go off the favorite. As good as they have played, though, D.C. is the pick. The Caps beat the Canes 2-0 in the last head-to-head. Washington can make it two in a row versus their rivals.
