A pair of NFC playoff teams from last season meet in a pivotal Monday Night Football affair in Week 4, as the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Giants wage war against one another. Can the Seahawks keep pace with the rest of the NFC West, or will it be the Giants who’ll get back to the .500 mark to gain some ground in their own division?

Nitrobetting is ready to take your bets into the end zone this 2023 NFL season. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Week 4 divisional showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Giants.

Why Bet on the Seattle Seahawks?

It was another strong offensive showing for the Seattle Seahawks, who routed the Carolina Panthers in Week 3, 37-27. This is the second straight week that Seattle scored 37 points following their gritty overtime win over the Detroit Lions in Week 2, as the team improves to 2-1 for the season.

Geno Smith was serviceable once more under center, completing 23 of his 36 passes for 296 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. But it was starting running back Kenneth Walker III who had a much better showing, gaining 97 rushing yards and two TDs on the ground on just 18 carries. In general, the Seahawks offense has played up to par to its surprising performance from last season.

However, Seattle’s previous flaw continues to be their weak point in 2023, as the team has the third-worst defense in the NFL in terms of yardage, allowing an average of 407.3 yards per contest. They also have the fourth-worst scoring defense at 32.7 points surrendered per game, so we’re bound to see a shootout between two teams with leaky defenses on Monday night.

Why Bet on the New York Giants?

The New York Giants are coming off a primetime game in Week 3 and didn’t have the best of luck in that bout, getting blown out on the road against the undefeated San Francisco Giants, 30-12. They’ll have a good shot at a bounce-back victory under the MNF lights, though, and this time they’ll be hosting the next game against another formidable NFC West opponent.

Daniel Jones was kept in check by arguably the best defense in the league from the Niners, as Jones threw a pick and completed just 22 of 32 passes for 137 yards without a passing touchdown. New York’s lone TD score against San Fran came from backup running back Matt Breida who, apart from that trip to the end zone, had a meager showing on the ground with just 17 yards and four carries.

The G-Men are optimistic that stud back Saquon Barkley (ankle) will return to the fold in Week 4 from injury, as they need all the help they can get on offense. After all, they also have a terrible defense that can’t be fixed as easily, one that’s ranked one spot lower than Seattle’s D and allowing 32.7 points per contest. New York has yet to generate a defensive turnover this season as well, so here’s hoping that this stop unit will be motivated to exceed expectations in front of their home fans in primetime.

Seahawks vs. Giants Betting Trends

  • The Seahawks are 4-2 in the last six road games (3-3 ATS).
  • The Seahawks are 5-1 in its last six meetings against New York (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went over in six of Seattle’s last eight road trips.
  • The Giants are 1-3-1 in the last five home games (2-3 ATS).
  • The G-Men are 2-7 in its last nine games against teams from the NFC West (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went over in three of the last four Giants home games.

Seahawks vs. Giants Expert Betting Predictions

With two relatively bad defenses playing on MNF, this should still be a high-scoring affair that will likely hit the over in point-total betting. As for the winner itself, Seattle should prevail with a win even on the road considering how bad New York’s offense has been without its best weapon. Although, if the G-Men do get Barkley back in time for this game, they could just as well pull off a much-needed home win over the Seahawks as Seattle’s own D falls apart defending the Giants’ running game.
