By Hank Blaine

When figuring out the best play to win a future event like Super Bowl 2023, it’s not always a good idea to start our handicapping with the odds. Buffalo has the best chances of winning Super Bowl LVII

The favorite is the chalk for a reason. Buffalo has the best offense and close to the best defense. Quarterback Josh Allen will ensure the Bills are competitive in every game.

The difference this season should be defensive end Von Miller. The former Bronco is the reason the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals and won Super Bowl 56. Miller wouldn’t have signed with Buffalo if he didn’t think he could win another Lombardi Trophy in a Bills uniform. Buffalo has the best chance to win the 2023 Super Bowl.

The Cincinnati Bengals will challenge Buffalo for the AFC Championship

The only AFC team that looks to have a shot against Buffalo are the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy’s offense is on par with the Bills’ offense. In some ways, the Bengals’ offense is better. Josh Allen to Stefon Diggs is a great QB to WR combination. But it’s not as electrifying as Joe Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase.

On paper, Cincy’s defense isn’t as good as Buffalo’s. So if the two teams meet for the AFC Championship, the Bengals will have to rely on Joe Cool. The strategy to rely on Burrow turned out okay versus the Kansas City Chiefs in last season’s AFC title game.

The Bengals are legit. Give them an edge ahead of Kansas City, Denver, and the other AFC contenders to beat the Bills and win the conference.

Dallas is the top NFC play to win Super Bowl LVII

The Dallas Cowboys have the best chance among the NFC contenders to win Super Bowl 57. If we don’t look at odds and think about every team that’s good enough to win the Lombardi Trophy this season, the Cowboys are up there.

Rivals like the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Los Angeles Rams have more question marks than the Cowboys. A wide receiver or two must step up for Aaron Rodgers to post similar numbers to what he did this past season. If Rodgers doesn’t play at an MVP level, the Packers won’t come close to making it to the Super Bowl.

The Buccaneers have a rebuilt offensive line. It may not protect Tom Brady as well as it did last season. Also, Tampa’s defense had trouble stopping the pass and the offense couldn’t rush the football well enough to make it to the NFC Championship.

The Rams must play without Von Miller. The defensive end is the main reason Los Angeles beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

Dallas has a strong defense led by NFL Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons. The former LSU standout should be better this season than last. The rest of the defense is loaded. Parsons’ linebacking mate Leighton Vander Esch is one of the better middle linebackers in the NFL when healthy.

We’re going to find few pro football lines with two solid defensive ends like DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr. Also, Malik Hooker is a seriously talented free safety.

The offense is as stacked as the defense. Quarterback Dak Prescott is one of the best in the league. Dak already has a rapport with CeeDee Lamb. Michael Gallup stretches the field and Ezekiel Elliot remains one of the NFL’s better running backs.

If we don’t allow odds to dictate our opinion, it’s obvious that Dallas is the NFC’s best shot at winning a Super Bowl.
