2022 Memorial Tournament Recap

Billy Horschel shot a -13 to beat Aaron Wise by 4 strokes. Patrick Cantlay and Joaquin Neimann followed Wise in third. Both Neimann and Cantlay shot a -7.

Daniel Berger, Max Homa, Sahith Theegala, and Denny McCarthy tied fifth with a -6. Three players tied tenth at -4: Sungjae Im, Jon Rahm, and Brendan Steele.

2023 Memorial Tournament Top Pick

Xander Schauffele played well at the 2022 Memorial Tournament. Although he didn't finish in the Top 10, he did finish in the Top 20 after shooting a -2.

Heading into this year's tournament, it's difficult to find a player that offers more value than Schauffele. Xander ranks fifth in the world.

Leading up to the PGA Championship, where Xander finished a tied eighteenth, Schauffele had scored back-to-back fourth place finishes at the RBC Heritage and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Xander then finished second at the Wells Fargo. The odds make the top choice more than playable.

2023 Memorial Tournament Second Pick

On Thursday, the world’s top ranked golfer will start another tournament as the favorite. Scottie Scheffler didn’t play at the 2022 Memorial Tournament.

But his recent form suggests he’s the golfer to beat. Scottie is hot. He finished fifth at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Then in the PGA Championship, Scheffler finished a tied second. Last week, Scottie finished third. He’s sitting on a big tournament. So if you aren’t against playing chalk, backing Scheffler makes sense.

2023 Memorial Tournament Third Pick

Jon Rahm’s form since winning the Masters in April suggests he may require a couple of tournaments to start playing his best.

Jon finished a tied fifteenth at the RBC Heritage and a second at the Mexico Open. But his fiftieth at the PGA Championship calls into question Rahm’s overall form.

With that being written, Rahm shot a 76 in the first round at Oak Hill. He followed up the first round disaster with three straight fantastic rounds of golf, including a 68 in the PGA Championship's second round.

2023 Memorial Tournament Underdog Pick

Tyrell Hatton didn’t play at the 2022 PGA Memorial Tournament. That might be a good thing. Hatton will step onto the course at Muirfield Village with fresh eyes.

Tyrrell has been playing well enough to warrant a look. If a tied third at the Wells Fargo and a tied fifth at the AT&T Byron Nelson weren’t enough of a reason to give Hatton a look, the tied fifteenth at the PGA Championship should convince you.

Hatton is playing great golf and the odds are more than right. If you want to back a dog with a shot, Tyrrell is one of the better plays.
