Why Bet on the Vegas Golden Knights?

Vegas had a major flaw with replacing the goalie for Game 1. Robin Lehner stepped in for Marc-Andre Fleury, after having extended their series to Game 7 against the Minnesota Wild. It’s understandable that some need a night off. But this killed the Golden Knights. Lehner finished the game with a 7.03 goals against average, with a save percentage of .811. Terrible is an understatement.

Marc-Andre Fleury will start in Game 2. He’s currently ranked in third in the post season with a goals against average of 1.71 and is in 8th place with a save percentage of .931. But take into consideration that these numbers were against the Wild in Round 1. Can he do the same in Round 2 and help the Golden Knights get breath of fresh air?

Why Bet on the Colorado Avalanche?

As mentioned previously, the Avalanche dominated the regular season, being first in the rankings in terms of expected goals, shot attempt share, high danger chances and 5 on 5 goal differentials. It’s no wonder they were on top throughout the season and still are there with no losses so far in the postseason.

The player to watch on this side would be Nathan MacKinnon, He’s currently leading the league with eight goals and is tied with 12 points for the lead, with just only five playoff games played. Just his six goals alone is more than any other player’s total goals. And he didn’t need any extra time to get it done. It’s like watching a video game character on the ice.

Golden Knights vs. Avalanche Betting Trends

  • The Golden Knights are 3-7 SU in the last 20 games.
  • The Golden Knights are 10-4 SU in the last 14 games on the road.
  • The totals went over in 4 of Vegas’ last 6 games.
  • The Avalanche are 10-0 SU in their last 10 games.
  • The Avalanche 12-0 SU in their last 12 games at home.
  • The totals went over in 6 of Colorado’s last 7 games.

Golden Knights vs. Avalanche Expert Betting Predictions

It’s hard to see the Golden Knights getting such a beatdown in Game 1. And it’s interesting because they had a really good season. They were either in the top five, at most top 10 of teams that had good stats such as expected goal rate, high danger chance percentage and expected goals scored. But it wasn’t enough to stop the Avalanche from dropping on them.

With their top goalie back on the ice, it could become very difficult for the Avalanche, but not impossible to beat either. Many could expect the same result as last time, but I think things will shift a little in Game 2.
