Why Bet on the Winnipeg Jets?

Round 1 gave a glimpse of what many thought would be a continuous effort from the Jets in the playoffs, after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers. But since starting the series against Montreal, it’s been a battle to score and hold the defensive line. They currently have four goals in three games, with just one in the last two. And this is after the fact that Mark Scheifele got suspended in Game 1.

The player that everybody will be looking at tonight is goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. His performance isn’t even close to what he did in Round 1. And in the offensive side, they added Paul Stastny back in the line up, but he won’t do much to replace Scheifele while he’s gone. But that won’t be much to worry about if they lose in tonight’s matchup.

Why Bet on the Montreal Canadiens?

Just by looking at the style of playing against Winnipeg, they’ve demonstrated the great crack they had, but wasn’t shown from them in Round 1. They are currently on a six game winning streak, beginning from the previous round against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Interesting though, because they even had a hard time doing less then that amount during the regular season.

The wall that has stopped the Jets from getting a decent amount of goals is Carey Price. He’s stopped 83 of 87 shots so far in this series, making 56 of 57 in just the last two. If the defensive line keeps on bringing the heat towards the Winnipeg offense, Price shouldn’t be that worried for tonight. He will still bring his A-game, but it will be much more relaxed for sure.

Jets vs. Canadiens Expert Betting Predictions

I think we all know where this is headed. The performances alone speak for themselves. The Jets weren’t prepared to take on a Montreal team that seemed to be in that same spot not to long ago, but somehow found a way to get their heads above water and swim back to shore. I’m not saying Winnipeg can’t do the same, but it seems that hopes to continue in the playoffs will end early. Let’s see if they can surprise us.
